Deaf and hard of hearing people staying in sleeping premises are at risk of not hearing the fire alarm. Deafgard X is a moveable device which can be placed at the user's bedside and will be activated by a System X Transmitter when the fire alarm sounds.
Deafgard X is a battery powered, wireless unit with a pad attachment that simply goes under the pillow of the sleeping person.
When the fire alarm sounds, the Deafgard X will receive a radio signal from a System X Transmitter which will alert the sleeper via its vibrating pillow-pad, as well as visually by the high intensity LED flashing light and the LCD screen displaying ‘FIRE’.
The versatile System X Transmitter can either be a fully wireless acoustic system, being installed next to the fire alarm bell, or hardwired into the fire alarm system.
Features:
- Ensures you comply with elements of the Equality Act 2010
- Alarm clock facility for deaf or hard of hearing people
- Suitable for modern voice evacuation systems
- 100m site specific range
- CE marked
Acoustically Linked Mode
The System X Transmitter leaves the factory configured in the acoustically linked mode. This means that when the System X Transmitter is installed it continually monitors the sound pressure levels of the surrounding area. When a fire alarm is activated, the sound pressure level it generates and its frequency content is analysed to determine that an alarm has been activated. On identifying an alarm condition, the unit automatically signals to all linked devices. One unit can transmit simultaneously to multiple Deafgard X units within a 100 metre range, subject to a site specific survey.
Hardwired Mode
During installation the System X Transmitter can be hardwired directly into an automatic fire detection and alarm system, or an input/output unit on an addressable loop. The System X Transmitter then continuously monitors the status of the FIRE relay within the control and indicating equipment. On identifying an alarm condition the unit automatically signals to all linked devices. One unit can transmit simultaneously to multiple Deafgard X units within a 100 metre range, subject to a site specific survey.
