On-site Fire Risk Assessment:
Our Fire Risk Assessment process starts with an interview with the Responsible and/or Competent Person for your site. This is designed to ascertain the level of management procedures with regards to fire safety and to understand your premises work practices.
Our fully insured risk assessor will then conduct an inspection of your site and
the areas in the immediate vicinity. This will involve taking detailed information from members of staff, record requesting and taking photographic evidence if necessary.
The produced report will be documented in three stages, briefly summarised below:
Stage one: review
• Details of premises
• Legislative details/controls
• Description/use of premises
• Persons employed: required assistance
• Identification of fire hazards and dangerous substances
• Evaluation of risk by areas of the workplace
• Adequacy of existing fire precaution measures: means of detection and giving warning, evacuation procedures and fire routines
• Fire fighting
• Staff fire awareness and training
• General details: maintenance
• Emergency & recovery plan
• Disability Discrimination Act (DDA)
Stage two: implementation
• Hot work: hot work permit, hot work check sheet
• Emergency plan and fire routine
• Matters to be taken into account in respect of young persons
• Matters to be considered in respect of dangerous substances
• Measures to be taken in respect of dangerous substances
• Arson prevention
Stage three: action plan
• Details of recommended actions in order of priority.
