Neil Purssey. Managing Director
Nickname: ‘Dr Lecter’
The eccentric inventor of Dorgard, Neil is not your ‘normal’ MD. Famous phrases include ‘the pace of the pack is determined by the leader’, ‘lets go down the pub’ and ‘it’s what we do’!
He was educated in Weybridge, Surrey and joined AC Cars of Thames-Ditton, manufacturer of the famous Cobra, whilst attending study that led to an HNC in Mechanical Engineering. His success within Motor Racing Developments prompted recruitment by Bernie Ecclestone to the Brabham Racing Team and development of Formula One cars alongside Gordon Murray.
International travel involved learning to fly with an airline for which he designed a unique freighting system, fear not though - he hasn’t flown for years, so the skies are safe!
It was his work with interior design that made him aware of the importance of an affordable fire door hold open device.
Kristian Salter. Finance Director
Nickname: ‘Scrooge’
Kristian joined us in May 2000. With his purse strings as tight as his tennis raquet, he is the ideal FD, though can easily be coerced into buying a round. He is often seen arriving at the office for a hard days work on a skateboard. He is the epitome of ‘Cool Dad’.
Kristian attended Lewes College to complete the Association of Accountants Technician qualification. He previously worked for 5 years at an accountancy practice in East Sussex.
Wesley Kent FLnstSMM. Sales Director
Nickname: ‘Grand Master Kent’
Wesley joined us in May 1999 and governs the sales team with an iron fist. He is responsible for UK and International sales and his ambition is for World Domination! He once commanded a splinter cell entitled the Ministry of Offence, but dropped the whole idea when his second in command pointed out that ‘MoO’ doesn’t hold anywhere near as much respect as ‘MoD’.
Wesley is a Fellow member of the Institution of Sales and Marketing Management which sounds very important and he assures us that it is. Prior to joining Fireco, Wesley managed a travel company firm in Suffolk.
Michelle Bussey. Operations Director
Nickname: ‘The General’
Michelle joined us in September 2002, she leaves people quaking in their boots but is really a softy at heart. She brought with her a vast experience of managing teams in a variety of organisations.
As Ops Director, she is responsible for overseeing all aspects of company operations across Customer Services, Administration and HR and she does so phenomenally well. Michelle is CPP qualified, so good for her.
Alan Busby BA (Hons). Company Secretary, IT & Intellectual Property Manager
Nickname: ‘Buzzard’
Alan joined us in 2002, the thespian of Fireco also moonlights as the Entertainments Manager – organising theatre trips, bowling, cycling holidays (because Fireco care).
Alan is responsible for looking after our IT and intellectual property – protecting the Fireco empire! How many jobs can one person have!
Kate Hamilton BA (Hons). Marketing Manager
Nickname: ‘The Mighty Hamza’
Kate joined us in August 2004 and is responsible for the running of the Marketing Department, also known as ‘Fireco Babe Central’.
Kate has beautifully shiny hair and graduated from Brighton University in July 2004 and joined Fireco as Marketing Executive. She has now completed her CIM Professional Postgraduate Diploma in Marketing.
